There is much to see and do here in the Mt Washington Valley.  Nearby Conway and North Conway (11 miles away) are a mecca for shoppers, with every outlet you can imagine within a 5 mile stretch of road. There are also plenty of great restaurants and bars offering everything from fine dining to casual bistros, flatbread pizzas and BBQ.  North Conway also has the Scenic Railway offering local excursions and dinner rides, and in the summer, incredibly scenic rides up into Crawford Notch.

Winter sports include both downhill and cross country skiing nearby, snowshoeing and ice climbing for the more adventurous.  Snowmobiling got it's start in the adjacent town of Ossipee, and every winter, Tamworth hosts a sled dog race, which includes teams of Chinooks, a sled dog originally bred here in Tamworth.  
Summer offers hiking, horseback riding, golf, tennis, white water rafting, kayaking, boating and swimming in the many lakes nearby, and shopping (did we mention the shopping).

Tamworth NH, which Chocorua Village is a part of, is home to the oldest continually operating summer stock theater in America, The Barnstormers.  They do a twelve week schedule of musicals, comedies and dramas, and the theater is also used for concerts in the late spring and fall.

The Saphouse Meadery in Ossipee opened recently, and is the home of NH's first Mead Pub. Mead is the oldest fermented beverage in the world; predating grape wine and beer - going back to the Egyptians over 7000 years ago.

Turkey Street Maples, just down the road, are the folks who harvest our sap and turn it into the best maple syrup in the state of NH.  They have syrup available year round, and guests at our B & B  will find a little bottle in their room to take home.  www.turkeystreetmaples.com
